Russian president Dmitry Medvedev set goals for the textile industry development during the general committee of Russian state council meeting dedicated to development of textile industry. The President mentioned that the this area needs to be improved by fundamental upgrading, implementing hi-tech technologies, increasing the working efficiency, using the foreign experience of such countries as China, Hong Kong, Germany, Turkey and other countries, which had fast and big success in textile manufacture.
The President mentioned, that the industry requires investments, as well as lowering of the credit rates and increase of grants for re-equipment. The textile clusters should be formed in some Russian areas, like Ivanovo and Vologda regions. Lately the textile manufacturing in Ivanovo region has expanded extensively due to development of new technologies and production of new materials. These materials are not classical cloth fabric or home textile; they are technical fibers and technical textile, which are used in road-building, industry and medicine. It's no secret, that development of geotextiles manufacturing now is one of priority trends of textile industry due to high demand for geotextile, which is used in roads and railways building, ground stabilization, bridge building and landscaping.
